Maggie and Will have been together for quite some time, over nine years! A lot can happen in nine years, including a wonderful addition to their relationship in their son, Oliver. When Will proposed to Maggie, there were A LOT of roses involved. Will had a plan when Maggie arrived home from work, it was like a scavenger hunt, and what she kept finding was dozens and dozens of roses. When she arrived at the final “finding place” Will was waiting for her. He was so excited that he popped the question immediately! I always ask people what they love most about the other, and Will and Maggie had so many amazing things to say about each other. These two are clearly meant to be, they are each other’s missing puzzle pieces!

This was my first time as a Scott County Threshers Wedding Photographer, and I had a great time! I have grown up attending the Thresher’s Bee and I have never seen it transformed into such a wonderful place- and for a wedding!

Being a newborn photographer is such a joy for me! I love to see new little humans forming their features and personalities. Jackson’s Daddy was in the military and is a Officer, so we wanted to make sure to include that in the session. Also, another little touch was the big panda. When Jackson’s Mommy and Daddy didn’t know the gender, they called him “Panda”. I absolutely love how it looks like the panda is holding him!

I love the little knit newborn outfits, and Amazon is great for them (and everything, really).

I am so ecstatic to be able to share the 2nd part of this amazing styled shoot as a Mansion Minneapolis Wedding Photographer! The Blaisdell is an awesome Mansion Wedding Venue in Minneapolis. It has a mix of old world charm, and elegance. I absolutely LOVE wedding details; it’s one of my favorite things to showcase. This decor was beautiful and did not lack detail. Apres always has beautiful high end decor and I love being able to work with them! The color theme for this shoot was navy, cream and gold- such a great color pallet for a fall high end wedding! The macarons were so delicious, Amy’s Cupcake Shop did an fantastic job! This ceremony setup was so gorgeous with the wood flooring; it really made the greenery pop!

Eli and Toni are such a fun couple to be around, Toni is a bit shy but when Eli is around, her personality shines. He definitely brings out the best in her, and her whole face just lights up. One of the quirkiest aspects of their relationship is that they do “little kid” things together to fill their time; paint by number, and playing with clay. Toni said that when Eli proposed to her, it was just like out of a Disney movie. There were birds chattering, geese nesting, deer, baby ducklings and a beautiful lake. They were having a great time after a casual date night (Toni’s favorite kind of date), and Eli grabbed her hand, whirled her around (I can only imagine a Disney Princess whirl), knelt down and asked her to marry him. I think these two definitely got their happily ever after!

This shoot did not lack detail and decor, Apres always has beautiful high end decor and I love being able to work with them! The color theme for this shoot was emerald, cream and gold- such a great color pallet for a fall high end wedding! The jewelry was such a great touch, Continental Diamond supplied the rings, necklaces and men’s watches.; the ring made all of us ladies swoon!! Another addition to this shoot was the caterer, Fork & Flair. Often at weddings, I don’t get to photograph the food being plated, and this was a great opportunity to show it off!

I have known Terry and Karen for many years, and what a way to celebrate 40 years of marriage! I have done several session at the club before, but it’s always great to return to be a Minnesota Horse and Hunt Club Wedding Photographer. This was such a great event to be a part of, and I can’t get enough of that cake!! Karen had the bakery – Old Town Coffee Saloon, replicate their wedding cake, and it was quite a sight.

One of my favorite parts of wedding photography is the details, details, details, and Karen did not leave any out. The centerpieces, the candy bar, the potato bar, all of it was beautiful and tasted amazing! Terry has been the manager at the Minnesota Horse and Hunt Club for many years, so it was a perfect place for them to renew their vows. One idea that Robyn, their daughter came up with, and I LOVED was recreating photos from their wedding. I definitely added to their special day, and side by side, they haven’t aged a day 😉

I am IN LOVE with this session! I feel like everytime I post a session I fall in love all over again. Emily and Reid’s engagement photography session is one for the books. Not only are they adorable, but their dog was AMAZING! He was so loveable and was a great model. One of the best ways for me to get to know my couples and them also to get to know me is an engagement session. It allows us to “hangout” for a couple hours and to get some awesome photos that are great for Save the dates, and to display at the wedding.

One of my absolutely FAVORITE parts of being a photographer is growing with families. I love being a Minneapolis Wedding Photographer, but I love being able to photograph growing families. Newborn sessions are always fun because you never know how the baby is going to be, or what they’ll let you do! I always allow more than enough time to photograph and to allow baby to relax. Whenever I do newborn session, I always photograph in home, and it makes a huge difference, for both mommy and baby!

As a Minneapolis Wedding Photographer, I typically just photograph the wedding, I don’t get to see a whole lot of the events before the big day. Rachel’s Bridal Shower was such a wonderful day to be a part of. It was a beautiful day on Clear Lake, the clouds were big and fluffy, the sky was blue and there was a slight breeze. Rachel’s Aunt Karen was gracious enough to host the event, and allow me to photograph in her beautiful home! What a great place for entertaining, and what a view of the lake from the pool area.

Rachel is also a photographer, so it was a blast to be a part of fellow photographers day!

As a portrait photographer, I get to photo all sorts of fun events and people, this birthday party was extra special for me, because it is my one and only niece. She is absolutely adorable, although, I am a little biased! My sister had amazing ideas for the party, here is an excerpt from Natalie:

Being a teacher, I have always had a love for Dr. Seuss. My vision for my daughter’s birthday began about 5 months before her first birthday. It was very important to me that I picked a theme for Aurelia’s first birthday that fit with my deepest desires for her in life. I pray that she will be a world changer, and not fear any of the days ahead of her. That she would be confident in who she was created to be and that she is dearly loved.

The details: My friend, Stephanie (Wood + Stain) made the beautiful world map, and Target had a Dr. Seuss theme in their baby’s clothing. I purchased a world map with the verse Joshua 1:9 on it and a little cloud dress. From there, all the details for Oh, The Places She’ll Go fell into place. I gathered maps and other traveling decor including hot air balloons, suitcases, and pastels. A friend made my little girl a pastel and gold birthday crown. I customized hot air balloon invitations, and kids got Dr. Seuss Oh The Places You’ll Go party favors. The gifts were wrapped in maps, and I had an interactive “Where have you been?” bulletin board for the party guests to show where they have been around the world. Party guests were asked to bring a thought or prayer for Aurelia to write in a copy of Oh The Places You’ll Go to give to her when she graduates. It’s a long ways away, but I’m already thinking about that theme, too! 🙂
